Whitefish Mountain Resort (formerly Big Mountain Resort) has been one of America's favorite destinations for good times, good people and good snow since 1947. Rising above the historic railroad town of Whitefish, the resort has gained notoriety for its laid-back vibe, world-class skiing and spectacular summer recreation. Ranked in the top 20 in SKI magazine's annual reader survey, it is just as well known for a pleasant lack of lift lines as it is for friendly people and deep powder. The resort's central peak accesses more than 3,000 acres which receive more than 300 inches of average snowfall. | 11:30 am: Holy Cannoli, It's absolutely amazing up here! The crisp early morning has now turned to a mild spring almost afternoon. The sun kissed areas are beginning to soften while letting the shaded spots hold firm. I had a chance to head over to the backside and check out this years competition in The Nate Chute Hawaiian Classic Boardercross and all I can say is it's going to be wild time. Good Luck Riders!8 am: It's amazing what pushing one hour forward can do, especially in the morning. The dawn is still here and waiting for that sun to rise and shine through. The visibility up here is endless, if this morning's splendor is any indication of the day, it's going to be BEAUTIFUL!Don't forgetThe 11th Annual Nate Chute Hawaiian Classic will be topping off our weekend with the Boardercross. This is the biggest boardercross in Montana with almost 100 riders competing for the title. Afterward head over to the Stube where you can jam to the tunes of The Runs from Fernie, B.C. and Burning Cattle from right here in Whitefish. Location & Getting Here:
Whitefish Mountain Resort is located 8 miles north of Whitefish, 23 miles north of Kalispell, in northwest Montana. Glacier Park International Airport is served daily by flights from Salt Lake City (Delta), Minneapolis (Northwest), Seattle (Alaska/Horizon), and Denver (United) and others. Shuttle service and car rentals are available. The historic Whitefish Depot is served daily by rail (Amtrak) from Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis and Chicago and points in between.

Night skiing late December to early March on Fridays, Saturdays and select holidays.
